    Question

Hey guys, feel like helping out a newbie?

I need some help on installing my boost and fuel pressure guages. First the boost guage. I did a search and everyone says that you tee the vacuum line in either the stock FPR or the JR FPR. Why can't you just put it in the intake manifold? There looks to be a perfect little fitting for it on the manifold.

Second, the fuel pressure guage. Where do you attach the sender unit on the fuel rail? This looks like a pain in the a$$. it's an Autometer phantom guage and everything is not in metric Acutally, it would even be better if someone would post how and where to install the thing it would be great.

Oh yes, I drive a 2000 Integra GSR with just a JRSC (6 psi), upgraded JR fuel pump, and two heat range colder plugs.

    Thanks

    Hi,

#1 - Yes you can connect your boost gauge directly to the manifold, that's where mine is.

#2 - I only have a B&M underhood FP gauge, which mounts in place of the banjo bolt on the fuel filter. I believe most folks with internal gauges by put a fitting in the line at this point. Maybe someone would be kind enough to post one of the websites that has pictures of this.

Yeah there's a great spot in the manifold for the boost gauge, but I spent weeks looking for a fitting that would work. I just teed into the line in the OEM FPR. I would have prefered the manifold, but I did what I could. I would not tap into the line on the JR FPR if that line pops and you go lean, BOOM goes your engine. I bought the B&M fuel pressure gauge which comes with the fitting that you can tap tee's and angles to fit in the banjo fitting on top of the fuel filter. I don't have any pics but it works, you just need to be creative with brass fittings, and teflon tape. Buy the yellow teflon tape for the fuel not the white. Hope this helped some.

the way the autometer in cabin FP gauge works is that instead of having the B&M Banjo fitting you use the one tht comes in the kit. An electronic sender hooks into it here. There are some wires which run into the cabin and connect with a little box. The box then has some wires that go to the gauge.

I removed my B&M when I installed the incabin one. There are people who have both installed, as it is easier to adjust the static FP with a gauge int he engine bay.

I'm not sure if you can really see it in this pic but here you go.

    - I attached my boost gauge by teeing into the stock FPR.

    - My fuel press. gauge sending unit is teed in the fuel line between the fuel filter and the fuel rail.

I'm a little confused. The sender unit on my electrical FP guage fits a 1/8" NPT (or a 1/4" NPT with a adapter that's included). This will fit the banjo fitting on the fuel filter?

I also have an Allstar Performance mechanical FP guage. How would I hook up this and my electrical FP guage?

    Thanks.

Here's another question...I thought I had this figured out but I guess not. Where did you guys splice into the O2 sensor wire? I've heard that the best place is close to the ECU but where? I can't find it in my Helm's manual.

    Thanks.

Isolator: The mechanical gauge has a bolt that replaces the banjo bolt that has a 1/8th NPT hole in it that the gauge mounts to so that's why a lot of guys get the mechanical to be able to plum the fittings for both the isolator and mechanical gauge off of this 1 1/8th NPT hole.

O2: It depens on what year Integra you have. On ODB1 Integras it's the white wire with the red stripe. ON ODB2 Integras it's the all white wire. Both are a little bigger than the other wires connecting to the ECU.
